Another Canadian City Goes Smoke-Free [01/31-3]

Excerpts from: Another city goes smoke-free

Ottawa.cbc.com - [01/29/02]

Cornwall city council passed its final vote to outlaw public smoking on Monday.

The vote was 7 to 3 in favor of the smoking by-law.

Restaurants and other public places will become smoke-free in May. However, bars, billiard halls, bingo halls, and private clubs will have a year to adjust before they ban smoking in may 2003.

The local medical officer of health was pleased by the decision.
